Electric Motor Repair through 8,000 Horsepower
Inman Electric specializes in rewinding and rebuilding large electric motors through 8,000 horsepower. Our service center has 50,000 square feet and is equipped with 5, 10, and 15 ton overhead bridge cranes with 32 feet of height in our assembly and disassembly departments. The largest of our three curing ovens is 10 feet x 12 feet x 17 feet with one million BTUs capacity. Form wound coils through 6,900 VAC and 700 VDC are manufactured in our coil winding department. Inman Electric has computerized coil winding equipment as well as equipment to perform the following electrical tests: core loss and efficiency, hypot, megger, surge, and rotor bar. Our motor test panel is powered by a 750 KVA step transformer that provides 902 amps and 4,800 VAC capacity. Motors through 1,500 horsepower and 4,160 VAC are tested at full name plate voltage. Motors are fastened to a 10,000 pound machined sole plate grouted in an independent foundation adjacent to the testing panel. Complete vibration spectrums are printed and recorded for every tested motor.
